Cleaning
- Never be caught going to work with telltale stains again. Use baby wipes to remove an errant deodorant stain on dark clothing.
- To clean a drain, pour one cup of baking soda followed by a cup of vinegar down the drain once a month. After an hour, flush with warm water and the foam will remove most buildup.
- Always have club soda on hand to remove red wine stains from your clothes or floor coverings.
- If gum gets in your hair, use smooth peanut butter. The oil from peanuts gets gum right out.
- To clean up spills in the oven, sprinkle them immediately with salt. Brush away the burned food with a damp sponge once the oven has cooled.
- To disinfect a smelly sponge, wash it thoroughly and then microwave it while it is still wet. Once you see steam, it means the bacteria is dead. Thoroughly wash the sponge again. (Be careful. The sponge will be hot. Make sure you don't microwave any sponge with metal in it!)
- To remove any bad smells, soak a cotton ball with pure vanilla and place it in a saucer, it will neutralize odors.
- To ensure your lifeline of caffeine is intact, make sure your coffee maker is in tip-top shape. As if you are making coffee, pour straight vinegar into the machine with no filter, turn it on and repeat the process until the vinegar runs clean of calcium deposits.
- To remove perspiration stains, soak the garment in warm vinegar and water.
- Sharpen scissors with sandpaper.
- Vinegar kills grass on walks and driveways.
